Travels: Cape Cod 2013

Back in April my family had a small vacation in Cape Cod. Me and Anthony drove down the first night and then he went back home the next morning for work. I stayed with my family for the next few days and we did some sight seeing and of course I took tons of photos. The week was interrupted by the Boston Bombings but we made the best of our stay there despite the circumstances.

I really enjoyed being with nature, reflecting, and capturing the magic of it all through my lens...and I really love these images!

Rebirth

Through the grit and grain in our lives we embrace our imperfections, challenge our fears, and emerge from our cocoons the butterflies we were meant to be.

These were taken a few months ago on a trip to Cape Cod with my family. Will be posting some pictures from that trip in my next post. I wanted to share these because they really represent to me a feeling of rebirth or transformation that I've been going through. I'm posting these on my birthday in honor of these changes. I've been overcoming a lot of my personal and business related fears. Letting go and feeling more refreshed and light because of these changes. I'm feeling really excited to start a new. This year has been already so rich in growth for me with my project life series.  (I know I'm behind on posting some project life photos but I really needed a break from it! I update more frequently on instagram so please follow me there @fedfooda. I also tend to share more personal photos and stories on there for all you nosy people ;) ) I'm excited to challenge myself, make mistakes, and most of all learn from them and grow!

Hope you are all well and for those of you who are Muslim, Ramadan Mubarak!

Much love to you all,
Feda

Found In Translation Bike Ride Fundraiser

It was a beautiful night for a sunset ride along the Charles River in Boston last friday night. The amazing volunteers gathered to bike for an amazing cause. I was fortunate enough to come along and capture the beauty of it all.

If you're a long time reader of this blog you probably know what Found in Translation is but for those who don't know, here's my little blurb. Found in Translation in an non-profit committed to helping low-income and homeless multi-lingual women train to become medical interpreters with the use of their language skills. They provide a free 12-week course, child-care services, mentoring and job placement to help them get their way out of poverty.

This organization was founded by my friend from college, Maria Vertkin (Yes, check out her website, she is a superstar!) I'm always rooting for these guys! I'm so happy to be able to share my talents in any way that can be of service to them. These are a few of my favorite shots from the night!  I still can't believe they raised over $20,000 for next year's class of 2014!

Special thanks to the riders, Mark Stewart, who organized the ride and led the bikers, and all the sponsors who donated food and prizes!

If you feel like contributing or being a part of a great cause, please consider Found in Tranlsation. For updates follow them on Facebook
